Jan 16th Editing

Today our primary focuses were:

  • To add titles to our opening sequence
  • To finish creating and add a soundtrack
  • To reduce the length of the title sequence from 3 minutes to 2 minutes
We successfully managed to add all the titles to the beginning of the edit, and we also cut the edit to 2 minutes and 5 seconds long

We used Helvetica as the font for the titles as it is slick and stands out to the audience.

Trimming the length of the edit in turn also helped in adding the titles in as the titles fitted in nicely with the opening shots of Mia walking to college.

As seen in the picture below, we also managed to add music for during the titles. The music is set in a minor key and instruments heard include strings, ambience and a synth, which helps the audience identify that the genre of the film is Horror/Thriller.

What we need to do next before the deadline:

  • Add more music to the rest of the edit
  • Add effects and colour tones to help set the Horror/Thriller genre
